The theme this year is 'Global Connections' - how is our life sciences field connected with the global arena. Alongside domestic developments, we will be focusing especially on our international potential, how we can capitalise on our strengths abroad, illustrating current best practices with successful public private partnerships abroad, and how Life Sciences NL can learn from them. 

Following the presentation of the vision for Dutch life sciences for the next
15 years - Partners in the Polder - this year’s event will also be addressing
our progress in acting as one bioregion, and looking at possible next steps.

So what’s it all about?
Life Sciences Momentum is where people come together to discuss the developments and the future of life sciences. Participants include the whole who's who of the Dutch life sciences field: industry, science, government, healthcare, civil-society organisations, education, finance, politics, media and more. This year, in line with the theme, we are also expecting various
foreign stakeholders.

In addition to workshops and readings about the state-of-the-art, the heart of the event is the Plaza, the foremost inspiration, network-forging, new business arena on the annual
Dutch life sciences calendar.

Life Sciences Momentum 2010 will focus on five key topics:
• Delivering health – Healthcare demands are changing. How can developments in the life sciences help address these demands?
• Feeding the world – How can we ensure enough food for the global population? Can we breed stronger crops? Can we secure healthy food worldwide?
• Offering alternative resources – Each year, we need more energy, chemicals and materials. Yet the world is finite. How are life sciences part of the solution?
• Protecting the environment – The natural environment is suffering. What can we do?
• Promoting innovation – The Netherlands is good at life sciences. But we need to keep moving. Where does innovation come from and how can we keep the ball rolling?
